Cookie Policy

What cookies Fotos uses, why we use them, and how you can control them.

Last updated: March 2025

01What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is being used. Fotos uses both first-party cookies (set by Fotos) and third-party cookies (set by our service providers).

02Essential cookies

  • Session cookies — keep you signed in while navigating the platform.
  • Security cookies — protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF).
  • Preference cookies — remember settings like language and display options.

03Analytics cookies

We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors interact with Fotos — which pages are visited most, where users drop off, and how features are used. This data is aggregated and anonymous. We use this information to improve the product.

04Functional cookies

  • Gallery access tokens — allow clients and guests to access their gallery without logging in.
  • QR session cookies — link a guest scan session to the correct event.
  • Onboarding state — remember where you are in the setup flow.

05Third-party cookies

Some features may load content from third parties (e.g. embedded maps, payment processors) that set their own cookies. Fotos does not control these cookies. Please review the privacy policies of those third parties for more information.

06Managing cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that disabling essential cookies may affect the functionality of Fotos — for example, you may be unable to stay signed in. To opt out of analytics cookies specifically, you can use your browser's "Do Not Track" setting.

07Cookie retention

Essential and session cookies are deleted when you close your browser or after a short inactivity period. Functional and analytics cookies may persist for up to 12 months. You can clear all cookies at any time via your browser settings.
